Mercaptol is a stabilized copper sulfate based solution that removes reduction due to hydrogen sulfide and volatile thiols. The formed copper sulfides precipitate. They have to be removed. Its concentration in copper sulfate (CuSO4, 5H2O) is 25 g/L.
Use Rate:
Usually between 0,3 to 1,5 cL/100 L of Mercaptol depending on the nature of the reduction flavors and after previous trials.
According to the European regulation, the treatment must not bring to the wine more than 1g/100 L of copper sulfate and the treated wine must not contain more than 1g/100 L of copper.
